Material Flow

Compare mass, input yield and material cost for two user-defined scenarios.

SCENARIO COMPARISON

Use the same finished volume.

This is an arithmetic comparison, not proof of equivalent material performance.

Hypothetical starting values. Costs use your chosen currency consistently; no market prices are supplied.

Scenario A
Scenario B

METHOD

The calculation, in plain view.

Keep function, service life and manufacturing constraints consistent.

Finished mass (kg) = parts × volume (cm³) × density (g/cm³) ÷ 1,000. Purchased input = finished mass ÷ usable yield fraction. Process remainder = input − finished mass. Input material cost = input × cost per kg.

The remainder is not assumed recoverable. No scrap credit, labour, tooling, taxes, freight or energy is included. Different densities do not establish equivalent designs. Zero parts produces zero totals and no per-part cost.
